Sharing stories of our lives, thoughts and processes … loved being part of your process. Mine usually starts with an idea and me figuring out how to build it, maybe sculpture for sure spatial, this was opposite to my approach to paper. So refreshing let’s repeat ♥️

Summer.
Bird song.
Frog sound ( don’t know the English word for the sound frogs made and it seems silly for some reason to look it up).
Time.
Complete disconnect between the hands and mind,
and
Laughter.
Conversations .
Thank you Leslie for making time for enjoyment of the unskilled.

It’s been 2 weeks since painting with Leslie and I’m still feeling the calming effects on my nervous system. Sitting, observing, making color marks on the paper was/is meditative. I want to carry this into my life more widely. I am so inspired by Leslie’s practice and love how it invites intimacy and community. Don’t we all want that in our lives. (?)
I feel grateful. 💛

The other day I had the total pleasure of joining Leslie on her ongoing plein air project. I met Leslie Baum in Chicago shortly before we moved to Dallas and was always sad to have missed hanging out more with this super talented artist. I feel such a kinship with how she thinks about pictorial and installation space.
Our session couldn’t have been more perfect: late summer beauty day full of breezes… fast and slow observations… and dishing on fav material discoveries.
